Hello! In addition to the myriad of great dragons that will be upcoming in Pathfinder Monster Core 2 and Pathfinder Lost Omens Draconic Codex, you might have heard that there will also be some dragons of a more diminutive stature. These miniature dragons, called dragonets, lack the bulk and might of their larger cousins. They’re just as interesting and varied as their counterparts, however, and with the release of Pathfinder Lost Omens Draconic Codex, you can even choose the dragonet ancestry as your player character! For legal reasons, we cannot encourage you to play a purple dragonet with a dragonfly familiar, but we also have no power to prevent you from doing so either.
This fey dragonet is dressed up and ready to go on an adventure! Fey dragonets have appeared before in Pathfinder Monster Core, where they are commonly found as mischievous visitors from the First World or as a spellcaster’s familiar. As a player ancestry, fey dragonets get a needle-sharp bite, as well as wings that keep them from taking falling damage, no matter how far they fall. They can also change the color of their wings to better blend into the environment for safety, or just because they fancy being green for a day.

Long time Pathfinder fans will probably see some familiar faces among the dragonets, such as the grouchy and territorial tidepool dragonet. We have a brand new dragonet appearing in Pathfinder Lost Omens Draconic Codex as well. Say hello to the pearl dragonet, a delightfully fat creature that is believed to bring good fortune.
Though the typical pearl dragonet is largely harmless, you can choose to play a pearl dragon as well! These dragonets can gain a breath weapon that alters the luck of their targets, either blessing or cursing them. They can also quickly bounce away from danger if struck.
Dragonets are typically tiny creatures, though they can take a feat to grow up to three feet long. Their ancestry feats include gaining sharpened talons, lesser versions of draconic resistances, unique breath weapons, toughened scales, or increased flight speed and maneuverability.
That’s all the dragons for this week! Look forward to more previews from Creative Director Luis Loza, and be sure to pick up the books to see all our cute little dragonets!
Wondering what’s on the horizon? We’ll give you a hint—they’re bigger, better, and bolder than any dragons you’ve seen before!
